Dear West Goshen,

Happy December. My wish for you this month is that you find peace, whatever that may mean for you, and that you find time to spend with those you care about most.

We end the year having completed many Township projects, and with many to look forward to in 2024. Multiple stormwater projects were completed this year on our quest to rebuild vital infrastructure. Electrification of the Municipal Complex is underway, designed to support a fully electric fleet of municipal vehicles in the future. One of the greatest rewards of being Supervisor is witnessing progress. So much progress has been made this year, and much more will be made in 2024 and beyond.

I want to take this opportunity to recognize my fellow Board members. Working with you is a pleasure, and I am consistently impressed with and inspired by your dedication. I want to recognize and thank Mark Bertolami—our Roads Superintendent. Mark has worked for West Goshen Township for over 28 years, and we depend on him and the entire Road crew to oversee projects, ensuring the safety and welfare of all who live, work and travel through West Goshen. I want to recognize and thank Andrea Testa, our fire marshal. Andrea’s contributions to West Goshen span many years, and her contributions and expertise are unmatched in Chester County. We’re lucky to have you with us, Andrea. Finally, I want to thank Christine Riffey and Jennifer Latzer from our Finance Department. Their hard work, dedication and professionalism is truly appreciated, and we are fortunate to have you on our team.

I would also like to recognize a few businesses in West Goshen that have made our Township better. I want to thank Timothy’s Restaurant for serving as West Goshen’s Santa Breakfast hub for the last few holiday seasons. They have been wonderful community partners. Additionally, I’d like to recognize the good work by the men and women of the Brandywine Valley S.P.C.A. We are fortunate to have this regional haven right here in West Goshen. If you’ve dreamt of adding a furry friend to your family, please consider visiting them to adopt an animal in need of a home. This is your sign.

I’ll leave you with a warm, winter thought. On the darkest of nights, whether alone or with others, no matter your circumstance, you have a place here in West Goshen. You are valued, and it is an honor to serve you and our community. Be well, and I wish you a happy, healthy, and vibrant holiday season.
