Along with merry-making and celebrations, another year-end tradition is to reflect on the past and look toward the future. Here are a few of the committee’s achievements in 2022:
In January, West Goshen Township was recognized by the Arbor Day Foundation as a 2021 Tree City USA
Two public information meetings about Ordinance 16-2021, Plastic Bag and Plastic Straw Regulations, were held early in the year
A new webpage was launched featuring key information about the ban for township retail businesses and the consumers who patronize them.
Enforcement of the plastic bag ban ordinance began on April 22
From our booth at the annual Easter Egg Hunt at Community Park, we distributed free reusable grocery bags
The annual Arbor Day celebration and proclamation was held at Oaklands Cemetery on April 29
The SAC welcomed two new members, Barbara Rinehart and Scott DeLone
We conducted oversight of the historic weeping beech tree and made recommendations for its continued health
Each month we contributed articles to eNews covering a variety of topics, from gas powered leaf blowers and water conservation, to decreasing your carbon footprint
