West Goshen’s Historical Commission is currently engaging in the review and revision of an existing zoning ordinance from 1990 to amend and add definitions related to historic resources and to adopt a new policy to establish historic resource protection standards. These standards also include a demolition policy to review proposed demolition of said resources. The procedure starts with the Historical Commission which is an advisory body to the West Goshen Township Supervisors. The Historical Commission does not make any final or resultant decisions on said documents. After the Historical Commission reviews and alters the document to their standards, the recommended policy is introduced at a Board of Supervisors meeting. Next the ordinance amendments are considered by the West Goshen Planning Commission for their recommendation of approval or denial to the Board of Supervisors. After they are finished with the proposed document and their proposed changes and additions, the working ordinance goes to the West Goshen Township Supervisors for their review and final adoption on the outcome of the proposed contents. The public are invited to these commission and committee meetings as well as the Board of Supervisor meetings which are held at the Township Building.
