With his velvet-like coat, clear brown eyes, and alert demeanor, you would never guess that it took nearly a year for mini Rex rabbit Simon to be adopted from the Southeastern PA-DE House Rabbit Society in Newport, Delaware. Housed at the bottom of a stack of cages and cowering in a corner, he was easy to miss. But luckily his prospective mom had seen the handsome fellow's picture beforehand, and it was love at first sight. Adopted at the age of 1.5 years in 2018, Simon recently celebrated four years in his forever home, where his comfortable accommodations occupy one-third of the kitchen. He has come a long way from the shy bunny he once was, and has a playful side that now manifests in leaps, bounds, 180-degree mid-air turns, and charging and dodging. His favorite time of day is evening snack time, when the words "carrot," "yummy," and "endive" cause him to prick up his ears, stand on his hind legs, and await a bounty of healthy treats.
