The Township Supervisors have generously increased the hourly starting rate for summer counselors (aged 18+) to $15 per hour. The West Goshen Park and Recreation Department is currently accepting applications from enthusiastic people interested in planning and supervising safe and enjoyable outdoor activities for children participating in our summer programs. Counselors are assigned to one of four park locations in West Goshen Township for the duration of the eight-week programs working part - time weekday mornings between June 21st and August 12th. Join us outside this summer making friends, making memories and making a difference!
The West Goshen Park and Recreation Department will be hiring for the following three positions:
1. Summer Counselors for the Summer Recreation Program (Age 18 +) $15 hour.
Summer counselors are required to plan, lead and actively supervise a variety of age appropriate recreational activities such as sports, games, crafts, special events and field trips for children between the ages of five and twelve. Counselors are responsible for the direct supervision and wellbeing of the participants while communicating and enforcing program rules and expectations outdoors in a team environment. In addition to working weekday mornings, summer counselors are assigned to one Afternoon Sports Clinic per week instructing activities such as basketball, lacrosse, tennis, soccer, T – ball and skateboarding. Summer counselor applicants are required to be 18 years of age and have a high school diploma by June 21, 2022.
2. Junior Counselors for the Summer Recreation Program (Ages 16 & 17) $7.25 hour.
The Park and Recreation Department will be hiring enthusiastic candidates for the position of junior counselor. The junior counselor position provides support to the summer counselors while gaining introductory experience working with children in a recreational group setting. Junior counselors are required to perform physical activity outdoors such as activity set up / cleanup in addition to a variety of daily responsibilities as directed by the summer counselors / program directors. Applicants must be 16 years of age by June 21, 2022and be willing and able to work maturely in a group environment. ($7.25 hour).
3. Summer Teen Program Counselors (Age 18 +)
- Summer counselors $15 hour. Head counselor $18 hour.
The Park and Recreation Department is accepting applications for candidates interested in working with our popular Summer Teen Program located at Lambert Park. Summer Teen Program counselors are responsible for planning, facilitating and supervising sports, games and special events for participants between the ages of thirteen and fifteen. Summer Teen Program counselors also attend weekly field trips and participate in community service projects. Applicants are required to be 18 years of age and have a high school diploma by June 21, 2022.
