September 20, 2022: Letter from Ashley Gagné, Vice-Chair, Board of Supervisors

2451

Dear West Goshen residents,

I hope that you enjoyed the summer in all its glory. Whether you spent your summer here at home or somewhere else, I hope you savored the long days, fresh fruit, outdoor dining, trips to the beach, warmth, and time with family and friends. Now, it’s time for an exciting new school year for our kiddos and to prepare for the chilly months ahead.

As we head into the fall, the Board of Supervisors and Township staff will be entering our budget season. During this time, we work together to ensure that your taxpayer dollars are allocated appropriately and responsibly. With this revenue, we fund many important Township services and improvement projects. These services include your trash collection and sewer operations, our stellar West Goshen Township Police Department, our much-needed Fire and EMS, maintenance of our beautiful parks and our recreational programs, Township administrative services, our excellent street and road maintenance, snow removal (that is second to none), and our professional services. We must also consider smaller, miscellaneous expenditures for Township committees and contracted services.

Over the past few years, we have made stormwater management and infrastructure a top priority. Many of our neighborhoods are feeling the effects of increased rainfall and flooding. The deteriorating stormwater infrastructure that runs beneath our township is in dire need of repair and, in some cases, is completely non-existent. The safety and wellbeing of our residents is our utmost priority, and we are committed to building a stronger, more functional stormwater network for you.

Our Board values input from our residents and business owners. I encourage you to attend our Board meetings held on the first and third Tuesdays per month at the Township Building on Paoli Pike. Please, if you have any concerns or questions, we are here to help. I would also encourage you to get involved by serving on one of our many Township committees. Interested residents can visit the township website at www.westgoshen.org, or you can reach me directly at agagne@westgoshen.org

On behalf of the Township, I want to wish everyone a safe, happy, and healthy autumn season. Best wishes to all of the children that have headed back to school, and thank you to our teachers at all of our schools here in the Township. You are appreciated more than you know.

Warmly,

Ashley
