After being closed in 2020 and the beginning of 2021, West Goshen’s Community Park, Coopersmith Park, and Barker Park picnic pavilions may be rented out again. To reserve a picnic pavilion, contact the West Goshen Township Park and Recreation Department at 610-696-5266, ext. 4104 or via email at klehr@westgoshen.org to determine the available for the park, date, and time you are interested in. An Application for Pavilion Rental must be received by the Park and Recreation Office at least two weeks prior to an event for a permit to be issued. Pavilions may not be reserved prior to an Application for Pavilion Rental and payment being received, with permits being issued on a first-come, first-served basis for a given time at each pavilion. An approved picnic pavilion assures exclusive use of a pavilion for the event. Other park facilities including playgrounds, bathrooms, and sporting facilities will remain open to the public.
Fees for Picnic Permits are as follows:
Monday through Thursday prior to 3:00 PM: $10
Evening or weekends, fewer than 50 people for events hosted by a West Goshen resident: $60
Evenings or weekends, fewer than 50 people for events hosted by a non-resident: $150
Evenings or weekends, 50 or more people: $250.
In addition, there is a $1 Release and Indemnification Binding Fee for each picnic.
West Goshen Township requires a $100 security deposit for each picnic. If the security deposit is paid by a separate check, the check would not be deposited prior to the ticket and would only be cashed if a permittee damaged the park or violated the rules in a dangerous, negligent, or deliberate manner. Otherwise, the check would be voided after the event. If the security deposit is paid by cash or included on the same check as the permit fee, the security deposited would be deposited until the event. If the permittee does not damage the park or violate park rules in a dangerous, negligent, or deliberate manner, a refund check would be sent to the permittee within two weeks after the event.
Picnic permits will not be issued during holiday weekends including Easter, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, July 4th weekend, Labor Day, and Columbus Day. Picnic permits are generally not issued for November through early March.
